The Arcata Playhouse is known as a community arts venue that presents touring acts in the Folk, Roots/Americana and Jazz genres, hosts theatre by all ages for all types, and as a hub for large puppets and outdoor spectacle, but they will be clearing the theatre floor for a dance party with local Humboldt dance band Home Cookin’ on Friday and Saturday, December 17th and 18th.

The Home Cookin' dance party is a benefit for the many Playhouse programs that this community arts organization provides from their Artists in the School program, to their teen program Apprentice Entertainment, to their workshops for all ages and music presenting programs.

Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to shake your groove thing with Home Cookin' on December 17th and 18th. The band promises to deliver a range of musical flavors with a repertoire of original tunes and rock standards. Composed of legendary local musical veterans, Joyce Hough, Gary Davidson, Fred Neighbor, and Mike Labolle, Home Cookin' serves up savory musical entrees with a saucy backbeat.

Cocktails and light food fare available. Doors open at 7:30 with music at 8 p.m.

This is a COVID safe event - attendees are required to wear masks and show proof of vaccination. The guest list will also be limited to 50 people each night to help ensure social distancing.
