A tale of the Bear and the Buddies who brought her into print.

Lucy the Bear began as an original oral tale centered in the Pacific Northwest replete with salmon and other tasty treats that Lucy loves. Once, when Ali Freedlund was in full storyteller mode, her buddy, Becky Grant, had the idea of empowering Lucy through paintings that could be made into a book. The Lucy the Bear book was born. The first part of this event will be hearing the recorded telling of the story (by Ali) while gazing upon the marvelous artistic renditions (by Becky). This is a story for all ages!!! Ali Freedlund and Becky Grant, the illustrator, will talk about their process in making the book together on Saturday March 13 at 11am, and how it has become the #1 requested story in Ali’s portfolio.
